Religious Community Services is committed to addressing the basic needs of our community by providing food, clothing and shelter to those who need it most. We also engage our community through a series of educational opportunities, financial and employment support, as well as counseling to people living in Craven County. Our church has partnered with RCS over the years and we have agreed to cover dinner for the 5th Wednesday of every month.

If you or your group would like to participate in providing dinner for RCS one of those 5th Wednesdays, please email us to get placed on the list.

End Of Religion

Was Jesus of Nazareth an irreligious agitator? Was his message more radical than we’ve been led to believe? Has the Christian religion missed the point?

Bruxy Cavey thinks so.

In The End of Religion, Cavey contends that the Jesus described in the Bible never intended to found a new religion; instead he hoped to break down the very idea of religion as a way to God. With a fresh perspective on biblical stories, Cavey paints a picture of the world God originally intended and still desires: a world without religion.

Join us for a 7 week Short-Term Group focused on finding the Freedom in a relationship with Christ, without being confined to religious rules.

We will be hosting a number of parent meetings leading up to FUSE, but don’t worry — you’ll only have to attend once, since the content will be the same at all of the meetings.  We just want to offer multiple opportunities to attend a meeting that will fit your schedule.  In these meetings, we go over all of the logistics that you and your student will need to know to make FUSE a successful experience for your student.  We’ll also share the heart behind why we do FUSE and let you know what we’ll be covering in our sessions and how you can prepare your student spiritually.

We'll also host a meeting after camp: at this meeting we will share helpful information about what happened at FUSE spiritually to help you prepare to receive your students back and take advantage of the first 24 hours after camp. This meeting will take place one hour before the vans bring your students back from FUSE!

June 25th - 6pm-7pm - Theater Area

Parent Network Event

You're INVITED to the conversation!

Calling all parents of Middle and High schoolers. We know that the pressures of raising Middle and High school students are hard and we want to do a better job equipping you for the good times and tough times.

We invite you to join the conversation on May 21st at 6:30pm at PC3 New Bern. We will spend about an hour talking about the struggles your students are facing and how the Church can better equip you to disciple your student(s) through it. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and share with other parents in the same boat as you. We trust this will help you know you are not in it alone and to give you some tools to help your student(s) walk with God. Don't forget to share this with other parents you know.
